notes: From what is often a comparatively small source, light-based works fill space volumetrically, naturally imposing on anything in their path. Such works also maintain a certain politeness in that disconnection from the power source renders them inert. This project consists of a series of drawings exploring distribution of pigment from a central source via explosion, operating volumetrically in a similar fashion to light-based works, but irreversible. Small, unfoldable boxes were also fabricated imagining experiments in which explosive-driven pigment distribution could be studied at a small scale. |
